Going Dutch is a collection of poems that presents a view of Germany through a pictorial and poetic presentation featuring poems about, and pictures of, Heidelberg Castle, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Neuschwanstein, Berlin city, and more. These poems were written in 2005 while touring Germany by train.

I'm not sure I understand the reference to Holland. The description and poems appear to be about travelling through Germany. Maybe the reference was to "deutsch" for German. Maybe it is referring to paying your own way? The poems didn't seem to make any reference to this.

Unfortunately (which happens many times on Amazon), the look inside does NOT show any poems - just the copyright page. Poetry, like any other genre has many styles and without being able to see at least part of one poem, the look inside is useless.

I gave 3 stars because, while I can appreciate the poems, these don't touch my heart. The pictures were nicely done. The formatting, at times left me scratching my head - bold lines in the middle of the poem with no obvious reason why - left margin indented a good inch so that the ending word of the sentence is to the left of the starting word - poetic licence? Could be.
